➤ Featured Features Movilfrit Deep Fryer

To begin with, as usual, we will see the most important features that this appliance incorporates whose system allows us make better use of the oil in the frying.

▷ 5 Liters Capacity

Know that the MOVILFRIT 117.054 Lux 5 has five liters capacity It may not tell you much, but if we tell you that this ability allows fry 3/4 portions of potatoes at most, it is easier for you to get an idea of how much food you can prepare at one time.

The declared five liters refer to the capacity of the tank, which must be filled with 4 liters of oil and 1 liter of water.

▷ 2000 Watts of Power

The Lux 5 Fryer is equipped with an electrical resistance whose maximum power is 2000 watts, a sufficient measure to obtain good frying in all kinds of food.

One of the peculiarities of this device is that we can regulate the height to which the resistance is immersed in the oil. This allows adjust it according to the amount of food that we are going to cook, so that the heat is kept closer to them and it is more efficient and faster.

▷ How is it cleaned?

The tank made of stainless steel no angles and the possibility of disassembling the resistance make cleaning much easier of this fryer. As confirmed by the brand, both the tank and the food basket and the one that collects the waste can put in a dishwasher for washing.

▷ Controls

The mobilfrit Lux 5 is equipped with an analog rotary thermostat that allows regulate the temperature between 60 and 200 degrees centigrade to adjust it to the type of food we need to cook. As a security system it includes a thermostat with manual reset tared at 230 degrees centigrade.

Although it is very simple to use, a timer with automatic shutdown is missing.

The support that regulates the height of the resistance is made of plastic and also includes the thermostat, the power light, the power cable and a silkscreen with temperature recommendations for some foods.

➤ Movilfrit Deep Fryer Opinions and Conclusions

The Movilfrit of water and oil seems to us a good option for users who are going to use regularly several times a week to fry different foods. If you only use the fryer occasionally or to make French fries, it is not worth the greater expense of this appliance.

Although it is an effective model that fries very well and gives good results, its price is high and it would not hurt if it included the filter for impurities and that it improved the control system, including at least a timer with automatic shutdown.

▷ Advantages and Disadvantages of Water and Oil Fryer

Pros
  • Does not mix flavors
  • Powerful and fast
  • Efficient
  • Easy cleaning
Cons
  • Price
  • No programs or timer

  1. Hello, I have this fryer and sometimes when I put the second fry, the oil rises and sometimes even comes out. It goes up making a lot of foam I do not understand why that happens to it. I would like someone to give me good information. Thank you.

When the resistance rises, the basket falls to the right ... which means that the food that is only submerged on that side is fried, the rest remain raw ... the food is left in the bottom of the basket. Especially potatoes. I put the oil until the minimum signal, even so the oil overflows at any temperature ... what do I do? The truth is I am very disappointed ... and cheap is not exactly.

    • From my experience, if it overflows it is because to put the minimum of oil in when it lowers the level it mixes with the water and it overflows! Put the oil up to almost the maximum !!

    • Hello Eva. This is a shunt, that is, a current leak through the metal body. It can be a failure of the resistors or thermostat or a simple bare wire in contact with the metal. In short, you have to review it because it is dangerous. Greetings

  12. I have had this fryer for 45 years, I would like to give some advice, when we change the water, before making the new one, first remove the basket and the resistance, then the filter that collects the waste, add the water with the salt and I will make it Also a cup of vinegar coffee if the water has a lot of lime, replace the filter that when submerging it cleans the oil, then the resistance and finally the frying basket. You have to allow a few hours for the water to go to the bottom and the oil to rise. I always first cold the potatoes to 130º, I blanch them and I have them ready to fry them when the time comes to 170-180º, I put them in the basket and manually submerge them little by little, you cannot fill the basket to the top with If the potatoes are ugly, it is because of the variety of potatoes, the best are of the “Agria” class, or Red Pontiac or Kanabec. The mona lisa are immediately burned. It is great for frying squid a la romana, frozen xurros (they are fried without defrosting, but in small quantities. The only thing that I don't use is for battered with breadcrumbs, when finished it remains floating in the oil and does not go down to the bottom. I fry potatoes to make an omelette, I cook them at 130-140. I have it since they began to sell it in catering stores. This week my tap has broken and the repair is very expensive, I have to change it and naturally I will buy the same one. .
I hope my experience helps those who have it.

I have had it for about 10 years and I am delighted.
I use it without a filter. It seems unnecessary to me.
Cleaning is very simple and I personally do it frequently by emptying both the water and the oil, which I recycle "if it is not very dirty." And I put both the tub and the basket in the dishwasher, which is where they are best degreased.
I always use olive oil. No oils of those seeds that say they are special for frying. I used it once and it was gross, sticky. ?
The potato theme is true what Rosa says. The key is in the type of potato that is used. Not all of them are good for frying.
At home we don't eat much fried but I prefer to use the Movilfrit instead of the frying pan because it controls the temperature of the oil much better.
Anyway, I recommend it without any doubt.

  13. In my previous comment about the fryer, I had wonders, I had it for 45 years and this summer the tap broke and the repair was very expensive, I threw it away and decided to buy a new one. Bad decision !!, I wish I had repaired it. I bought one in the English Court and when I arrived and saw the poor quality of the basket and its handle that was made of plastic, the old one was made of Bakelite, it cost God and it helps to put and remove the handle, the lid also made of plastic and without the basket to collect waste. The piece to raise and lower the level of the basket, also made of plastic. I returned it the next day. Now I'm looking online if I can find it, but it is of the same quality as it was. Being very sorry I give a suspense to this new model.

  16. I have asked a friend who does not use it and I am sorry to say that everything is perfect except the big design flaw that causes oil to splatter all around the fryer, I will not buy it for that. Filled with oil, it is too heavy to move and has to cool down, of course to be able to do so.

  17. Hi I have the deep fryer for a long time.
But I have a question that happens to me from time to time and I don't know why.
When it cools it is left with a layer of flour or residues just at the edge of the oil. I do not know what is due.
Other times I use it and it doesn't happen to me. It is sometimes and using the same brand of oil.
Could someone tell me what it might be?

  18. Hello, I just bought it because my neighbors have been with them for years and they are very happy…. I've used it a couple of times on my own yet… But it turns off…. The resistance skips me, I plug it where I plug it. And I just make my head spin ... I don't know why. And I tried the one of my neighbor in my house and it jumps the same, so my fryer's fault is not. Will it be because of the power ??? It surprises me because in the kitchen I plug in all the appliances and that has never happened to me. I wait for answers. Thank you

  21. Good afternoon, this is my third comment. In the end I bought the deep fryer, my children would go out of their way if I didn't buy it, they didn't want to run out of squid, xurros, French fries etc…. The quality is very different from mine from 1974, but I am content. From the first one, I kept the waste collection basket, the basket, but it doesn't fit me, I have to use the new one and the cover, which is made of Bakelite.
For my long years I would like to give some advice, from the comments that I have been reading, if you buy it, I also bought the waste basket, it helps to have the fryer clean when the water is changed, the resistance is removed, the basket with impurities , wash and while it dries, open the tap to drain the water, until the oil starts to come out, close it and make the liter of water again with ONE tablespoon of salt, two is too much and a cup of those of vinegar coffee, it is for the lime of the water, if in your city it is hard. Putting the basket on, when lowering it cleans the oil of impurities, let it rest for at least two hours before returning to use it to settle. When I want to clean the tank, I take out the resistance, the basket, the, water through the tap and we sift the oil with a fine strainer in a pot, until you see the sediment that remains at the bottom of the oil, this well threw it away.
I clean the inside of the tank with soap and water, I rinse it and dry it well and I proceed to fill it again, with all the ingredients, when I do this I have to add new oil and the fryer is ready to use it again.
I would like to give the manufacturer some advice and forgive my audacity, but I allow it for my 45 years of using it, the oil level is not correct at least for those who use it at home that I think are the majority, I NEVER full or even to the minimum level, always a centimeter long below that level, if what many users say does not happen, when putting the food the oil overflows on the outside, they will have to correct the level, in my modest opinion. Some people complain about the handle that does not allow the lid to be put on, the normal thing is to only use it when cooking and then remove it, I keep it in a drawer, the lid is to protect the oil from getting dirty when not in use.
These opinions are the result of my long experience with this fryer and some were given to me by the manufacturer who were close friends with my parents.
    All the best

Can you tell me what is causing this problem?

    • I use mild olive oil, it has never smelled bad, when I clean it, I filter the oil, I clean it, I put the oil back and you always have to add it, I put the clean water with a coffee cup of white vinegar and two tablespoons of salt, the Salt is the reason you can fry several things one after the other and the tastes don't take away, the manufacturers told me that, always use the filter to collect the residues The fryer stays clean for longer, taking it out and cleaning it every week The oil lasts longer I completely change it twice a year
