▷ 5 Litre Capacity

Know that the MOVILFRIT 117.054 Lux 5 is equipped with five litres capacity may not tell you much, but if we tell you that this capability allows you to fry 3/4 portions of potatoes at most, it's easier for you to get an idea of how much food you'll be able to prepare at one time.

The five litres stated refer to the capacity of the vat, which must be filled with 4 litres of oil and 1 litre of water.

The oil and water Movilfrit seems to us a good option for users who are going to use it as a use regularly several times a week to fry different foods. If you only use the fryer occasionally or to make chips, it's not worth the extra expense.

Although it is an effective model that fries very well and gives good results, its price is high and it would not hurt to include the impurity filter and improve the control system, including at least a timer with automatic shutdown.

  2. I bought a movilfrit a year ago
The basket to raise the resistance is fallen to the right..with which fries the food that is only submerged on that side the others are raw ... food I oegan at the bottom of the basket. Especially the potatoes. I put the oil up to the minimum signal, even so the oil overflows at any temperature...what do I do? I'm really disappointed...and it's not exactly cheap.

    • Hi Carla. It is a product that should still be under warranty. Our advice is to contact the seller or the house itself first. Regards

    • Hi eva. That is a shunt, ie a current leak through the metal body. It could be a failure of the resistors or thermostat or a simple bare wire in contact with the metal. In short, you have to check it is dangerous. Regards

  7. Why does the oil sometimes come out when it is at low level when it starts to heat up. It boils and comes out of the vat.

    • Hello, according to Movilfrit, if we put the water in the tank and we are a little short, it can heat up and boil. You can do the test by bringing the water above the level about 1.5 or 2 cm to avoid this. Greetings

  10. I have had this fryer for 45 years, I would like to give some advice, when we change the water, before adding the new one, first remove the basket and the heating element, then the filter that collects the residues, add the water with the salt and I also add a small cup of vinegar if the water has a lot of lime, put back the filter that cleans the oil when submerged, then the heating element and finally the frying basket. You have to leave it for a few hours so that the water goes to the bottom and the oil rises. I always fry the potatoes first at 130º, blanch them and have them ready to fry when the time comes at 170-180º, I put them in the basket and manually submerge them little by little, you can't fill the basket with potatoes, if they are ugly it's because of the variety of potatoes, the best ones are the "Agria", or Red Pontiac or Kanabec type. The smooth mona are immediately burnt. It's great for frying calamari, frozen xurros (fried without defrosting, but in small quantities. The only thing I don't use it for is breadcrumbs, it floats in the oil and doesn't go down to the bottom. To fry potatoes to make omelettes, I cook them at 130-140. I've had it since they started selling it in catering shops. This week the tap has broken and the repair is very expensive, I have to change it and of course I will buy the same one.
I hope my experience helps those who have it.
    Greetings

    • I agree with everything Rosa M. said.
I've had it for about 10 years and I love it.
I use it without a filter. It seems unnecessary to me.
Cleaning is very simple and I personally do it frequently, emptying both the water and the oil, which I recycle "if it's not too dirty". And I put both the bowl and the basket in the dishwasher, which is where they are best degreased.
I always use olive oil. None of those seed oils that they say are special for frying. I used it once and it was disgusting, sticky. ?
What Rosa says about potatoes is true. The key is in the type of potato you use. Not all of them are good for frying.
We don't do a lot of frying at home but I prefer to use the Movilfrit instead of the frying pan because the temperature of the oil is much better controlled.
Anyway, I recommend it without any doubt.
      Greetings

    • I have been using it for more than twenty years and all of them end up with a cork in the waste outlet. This last one in the first cleaning and I have to turn it upside down to empty it and my family all have a cork in the outlet hole which is the only problem, very annoying by the way.

  11. In my previous comment about the fryer, I had it for 45 years and this summer the faucet broke and it was very expensive to repair, I threw it away and decided to buy a new one. Bad decision, I wish I had repaired it. I bought one at the Corte Ingles and when I got it and I saw the poor quality of the basket and its handle which was plastic, the old one was made of bakelite, it was hard to put on and remove the handle, the lid was also plastic and without the basket to collect waste. The piece to raise and lower the level of the basket, also plastic. I returned it the next day. Now I'm looking on the internet to see if I can find it, but of the same quality as the one I had. I'm very sorry I give a fail to this new model.

  14. I have ordered it from a friend who doesn't use it and I'm sorry to say that everything is perfect except the big design flaw that makes it splash oil all around the fryer , I won't buy it for that. Full of oil it is very heavy to move and has to cool down, of course to be able to do that.

  15. Good I have the fryer for a long time.
But I have a question that happens to me from time to time and I don't know why.
When it cools down there is a layer of flour or residue just at the edge of the oil. I don't know why.
Other times I use it and it doesn't happen to me. It is sometimes and using the same brand of oil.
Could someone tell me what it could be?

  16. Hi, I just bought it because my neighbors have been using them for years and they are very happy.... I've used it a couple of times only still... But it turns me off.... I get resistance jumps, plug it where I plug it in. And I just keep turning it over in my head.... I don't know why. I've tried my neighbour's fryer in my house and it jumps the same, so it's not my fryer's fault. Is it because of the power? It's strange to me because I plug in all the appliances in the kitchen and that has never happened to me. I am waiting for answers. Thank you very much

    • Hi Carmen,

It has all the appearance of being due to the power. To rule it out, try it at your neighbor's house to see if it jumps there or not.

      Greetings!
